  • I Can't Get The Timer To Work On My Matrox PC-VCR?

I've got the lastest version of the Matrox PC-VCR off this site and I've got the Matrox G450 eTV card.

Thanks to Steve, I've got the channels all set up ready to record. But I went to use the timer and it didn't work!

I wanted to record something later that night while I was away so I thought I better just try it out first. I went to the Timer Settings box and set everything up according to the help file.

I set the time to record three minutes after my current computer clock, set the program number to 3 (to record ITV on channel 3) and then clicked the Status button to turn it on. By the way, the date was correct, the source was TV Tuner and Action was on Record Video.

The little timer clock icon came up at the bottom right of my screen and I left it for three minutes... I waited five... I waited ten... And nothing happened!

I tried this a couple of times and still nothing happens, though when I just press record normally all works well.

What should I do?!! Thank you everyone for any help thats given on this. Cheers.

I have not used PCVCR in a long time (14 months) so I cant remember the exact details, but I seem to remember that the starting recording time must be at least 30 minutes(?) away from the current system clock time for the timer to function properly.

I am sure reference to that fact was eventually included in the readme file as well .
