The thing that irks me about these ads is that Apple is completely FAILING to focus on all the very good reasons to own a Mac.

Macs are:

- Easy to use.
- Powerful.
- Flexible.
- Trendy.
- Very cool looking.
- Longer-lasting.
- Have better displays.
- Have MacOSX, a really cool OS.

However, instead they're focusing on common Mac misconceptions:

- Macs don't crash (except when they do, which is multiple times daily, for no reason, with an obscure code like "Error 4!", and options to "ignore" (does nothing), "retry" (does nothing), or "reboot" (hard locks the machine, must power cycle).
- Macs aren't complicated. SUUUUUURE they aren't. Easy to use, yes. But try to find the actual file for something on your hard drive. Good God.
- Macs have more/better software. Just plain ol' untrue.

In other words, the advertising team has been smoking some crack. And the whole "I'm a PC network tech but I like Macs better" thing doesn't wash, and is just too funny.

The other bad thing is that Apple paid off these people to appear in their ads. There was a really good thread on HardOcp with people photochoping the ads. I have a couple saved at home and I'll upload them later today...some funny stuff..

Another nice thing about Macs is that "they" generally don't target them for viruses.

Thats because not many people use them and you can annoy more people when you target windoze.
The most amusing thing I find about mac users is how they go into hushed tones when they mention their mac has crashed when they know a pc guru is in the place.
I don't know why Imac didn't have a zip disk as standard so users can transfer small amount of files. Many users went out an bought a zip drive just so they could do this. Plus they look ugly as well.

Yeah, I've seen that too. Nobody says anything about their system crashes if a "PC Person" is around - as if that will keep us from knowing that Macs crash a lot.

Man-o-man, if the computer lab I worked at didn't have iMacs for the mac users, my life would be so much easier. They always have the most ridiculous problems that happen for no apparent reason. And they aren't any more user friendly than Windows, because I have most simple questions coming from people using the macs.

No kidding about the zip disks. We had to get usb zip drives and super disks for half the macs, and then have a couple extra to loan out to people.

As for stylishness, I prefer the case mods that people have come up with better. You guys notice that stores like CompUSA are now selling more parts including aluminum cases, sometimes with the window mod?

No I dont...it was posted in GenMayem and that forum got pulled because of the huge amount of postings in there and all the problems it caused.
