    Why not limit yourself to saying, "You're only allowed to take one OS to a desert island (the desert island has an unlimited supply of free hardware, even Parhelias and Radeon 9700s ), which OS would you take?"

      At home Win2k, Mandrake, BeOS (haven't booted that in ages) and Win 98.

      At work Win2k, NT4, Win98, OS 9.2 and OS X.

        Work : Windows NT4, Windows 2000 Pro, Cisco IOS
        Home : Windows 2000 Pro, Windows 98SE, Windows XP Pro (by the end of the night I hope)
        Athlon XP-64/3200, 1gb PC3200, 512mb Radeon X1950Pro AGP, Dell 2005fwp, Logitech G5, IBM model M.

          NT 4.0 SP6a (for work and serious stuff) dualbooting with 98SE for gaming and browsing (I can just reimage 98 in 5 minutes when it gets corrupt from frequent installing and uninstalling)

                Windows 2000 SP-2 in 8 systems (a couple with multiboots of Linux) and AmigaOS 3.1 (2 Video Toasters).

                I gave up on Win9x months ago, save for one Asus P3B-F/PIII/850/Win98SE system used because it works with legacy kiddie & educational games our 4 year old likes to play. The other systems around the house and in the lab are as above.
