I don't like the extra line the start menu adds to the shell.
But how useful is the start menu?

Actually, you press ALT-D before you can type 'go'.
That's four extra keystrokes.

Thanks for the tips. I've never used alt-D to focus to the address bar, so that's why I wasn't counting it as key strokes
