  • Shuttle SS51 XPC

Looking for something different? Check out these reviews on the Shuttle SS51 Small Form Factor PCs. The thing offers the nearly the same performance as an Intel DDR333 motherboard! I already have a P4 1.6A GHz CPU waiting for when it comes out. Should make a nice HTPC/LAN/File Server box

Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

Take this bad boy, add 160GB HD, and AIW Radeon8500 with component output, and you have the most kick-ass home-theatre, tivo, and living-room-gaming box on the planet
Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. Bastard coated bastards with bastard filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive, bubble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine. -- Dr. Perry Cox

The fact that the board is made by Shuttle?

Edit: Or the high CPU temps?

I'm thinking of getting an SV24 as a stereo component/file server.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

Well part of the high CPU temps is because they give you a heat pipe type CPU cooler and in the Via hardware Review they where using an overclocked 1.6A P4 in it, which I'm planning on doing also. Also lets remember its not a AlthonXP core that will crack if it gets too hot

But since I have only a small appartment, I don't need it
