Interesting tidbit in comparing P and R300

I've just seen on rage3D that the new R250 and R300 cards wont support W98 at all. At least that's the official version. They will be supporting WinME so those drivers might work on Win98...

ATI already said that there will be W98-support for both cards.

btw: you can already download W98-drivers for the R9000/Pro

Another thing I noticed which hasn't been touched upon is that ATI is listing the memory bus as 256 bit, which convieniently is the same as the P, but, while the P has a single 256 bit interface, the R300 has 4 64bit interfaces into a hub. From a marketing standpoint I guess it's perfectly logical, but from an engineering standpoint, is it ok to be calling it a 256 bit interface? Which would be better?

that is somehting I have wondered about as well.

g400's had a 2x 64 bit bus's which could be used as a 128 bit bus?
(my memory is a bit fuzzy on that)

is the P only a 512 bit bus or can it be partioned into separate bus's?.

might explain some of P's quirky performance.
