  • Detla Fan Replacement?

I currently have a Detla Fan on top of my Swiftech MC462 heat sink and it cools pretty good, except that the damn thing has such awful wine coming from it that you can here it over the 4 other fans in my case. Anyone have any suggestions for a quiter fan?

Get a rheostat instead, very good to have. More flexible.

        thirds it....

I had a delta on my hs... it did my nut in so much that I took it off and fitted a PSU fan instead.... a fraction of the airflow - I am at work and cant remember the differences in cfm, but I found the delta in temperature to be only marginal... I cant hear the fan at all in my kit now.....

however the hs is an alpha PAL - so perhaps that might explain it....

I wouldn't suggest a rheostat. By reducing airflow you are also reducing it's cooling ability. Better choice would be to use a larger/quieter fan with an adapter instead. If the fan you choose is say 92mm or 120mm then add a rheostat only if it moves more air to reduce airflow and or quiet that puppy down.
