Ask Rags. Maybe a "repair" install will do it.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

Urg just remembered that I have to use PCI 3,4,and 5! (My Gefarts hideously big HS blocks 1 and 2)

On the other hand I had wanted to put the TX2 in tha last slot anyway...

Is this posible without getting MEGA conflicts with the AGP? (Intel and VIA chipsets usualy has the AGP and PCI1 and 5 share the same INT lines wich is totaly POS)

I'm having troubles getting mine to share IRQs the way I want. System is completely stable, but I haven't been able to get both the AGP card and the TX2 on their own IRQs, once you add in the NIC, sound, USB ....

                  AAAAAARGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

I just Checked Alphas home page to see if My PAL8045 was Compatible with my new Mobo!

                  And it is not!!!

Dumping the Alpha for another HS is at the moment stupid as I am waiting for a Watercooling kit!

                  All this excitement for nothing!

Well, at least I didn’t have to find that out halfway though disassembly and reassembly…

                  Hm…
Then I’ll probably get a new case at the same time as the watercooling.

I'm using the stock heatsink that came with my XP. Works fine.

Besides a athlon TB 1300 is much hotter than the xp 1800....

And I will get the new mobo and the other stuff later...

Some have said you can just change the hardware abstraction driver in an old installation, but I've never tried it.

Anhone who has tried this care to comment & expand on how they did it ?

                          Err... ok.

                          1. You DO have to reinstall. You might be able to sneak in a "repair" but... I wouldn't push it. You can just install over the top, or is that what you meant by "repair" install?

                          2. If you have APIC on, there's no need to worry about what is in which slot. This isn't an Intel or VIA board, and even those don't need that sort of worry nowadays. I just tossed these cards in based on how they best fit.

                            actually Technoid it's ~2 watts less than a XP1800+

                              I believe you Greebe!
It’s just that a TB1300 seems to emit more heat according to tests I have made…
I have made several computers with those two CPU’s and the TB required larger HS than the XP1800…

Unless the TB1300 is pushed to it's max limits it will consume more power on avg than an XP1800+
