Back on subject this is what I've gone for so far

Samsung SM181t 18 LCD claimed response time of 25ms and it's got a dvi input.
Couldn't get a SIS 648 based motherboard anywhere. So I went for Asus P4S533 with on board Lan.
P4 2.26b these may clock up to 3 gig so I've read.
2 x 256 pc 2700 Crucial Ram.
