  • Leadtek Winfast A250LE

I'm considering getting myself one of the above ($234 while the Parhelia is $600 here)

I've been looking for reviews but found nothing but silly benchmarks. Does anyone know anything about it's picture quality and video in quality ?

well, a friend of mine got that one, it has the Philips 7108 tvin/out chip, and input is quite good actually....

..tho.. the bad part.. the tvoutput quality of this card is in very bad in the cases i've seen... just as the MSI GF4 Ti VIVO models i've seen....

    as stated here:

....this seems to be more of a matter of luck if you get a good 7108 chip or a bad one.. tho i've never seen a good one if you're after Tv-OUT quality... only seen 4 cards.. but still... they can't be all lemons...

i got myself a A250LE without Myvivo.... great tvout quality (connexant tvout chip).... but no video-in... but i'd rather have good output...

..otherwise.. picture quality is quite good... like most gf4 ti's... no Matrox but it's OK...

I have the A250 TD Ultra and could not tell the difference between it and the Parhelia in 2d at 1280x960 on a Sony G400. I can't comment on the Video-in, because my card doesn't have it. Video out looks great on movies but not on the desktop.

BTW, I posted a deal for an ATI 9700 Pro for USD$243 shipped from a Canadian vendor in the soap box.

There was a posting on [H] in their hot deals forum that the company only ships to Canada...bummer for the people who dont live there
Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

As I painfully found out in an email cancelling the order.
