  • "Inexpensive" true hardware RAID?

Has anyone tried one of these adapters?

According to the specs, it is OS Independent and Platform Independent, supporting up to 4 drives. However, the speeds top out at ATA-66.

A quick search from resellers shows $231 for the card - would that put it towards the left side of the bell curve for prices of true-hardware raid?

Well, Dr., could you disclose anything not disallowed by said NDA?

          hmmm......

How about a card with a 32-256 meg SDRAM onboard disk cache?

          Remote notification, management & recovery?

            I see....curiouser and curiouser...

Why do I get this feeling that my quest for a good RAID card should wait awhile longer?

Update: check my post on the new Promise SX4000 RAID 0, 1, 3 & 5 card.

They released it sooner than I thought they would.
