Sound problem!

Uninstalled some old sb 128pci drivers that has been in my sys for a couple of years and it dissabled all souunds in my system! Now how do I get it them back?

Of coure I are not using the sb (have not been using it for over a year) but the integrated sound card! I have removed my soundcard drivers and installed them again(first the same ver. I was using erlier and also the newest ones on msi's website)!

I am using windows 2000 advance server and a msi 266a motherboard!

Reminds me when I removed the 5.1 from my system. Jeez what a mess that made. Do what I did use ghost to go back to where you were before you uninstalled. Then manually delete the files concerned. Hunt in the registry and use reg cleaner to remove the entries in the registry bit by bit. If you get a blue screen put the shit back in.
You now know why creative don't properly uninstall there junk.

Got it working again but im still missing the volume control icon in the taskbar!

Have you tried going to system properties -> multimedia, and there checking the appropriate checkbox?
