"But Honest, it's great at Q3"
    BTW:
His Mobo reviews has always stunk....

He said that the mobo I will always dispise (A DFI MVP3 mobo ) was a good choice....

I must admit, I don´t see the big flaw in that preview.

I mean, he benches a 3.6ghz p4 and concludes that it is fast.

        how is that wrong?

Let´s see, imagine when AMD top dog was a thunderbird 1400 and Intel had those 1.8/2.0 Ghz 256 Kb/400 Mhz fsb willamettes. Imagine some site doing benchmarks on a prototype XP2600+, using benchmarks that usually favors the strong x86 athlon fpu, and comparing it with the p4´s of then, even overclocked. Imagine how people would had been amazed by the XP performance... and how that could had influenced P4´s sales because it actually gave an inferior image of that product.

Tom´s P4 3600 review is lousy journalism(?) because even the most inquisitive reader will get a strong image about the P4 and that the AMD cpu´s are no match for Intel (despite a 1 Ghz faster CPU, using faster memory, having twice memory bandwidth and twice L2 cache being able to loose a couple benchmarks isn´t very flattering about Intel cpu design).

One year from now we may get a P4 3.6Ghz, but AMD fastest cpu won´t be a Thoroughbred 2666Mhz, that´s for sure...

In this context, it is interesting that the photo of the 3.3 GHz P4 on the THG site most probably has been faked. You can find a detailed examination here (it's in German, however). It seems that they didn't have a "real" 3.3 GHz CPU for their tests but just overclocked an older engineering sample. That doesn't mean that the benchmarks aren't correct, but you wonder how much of the stuff on THG you can actually believe...

so he should just refuse to benchmark it at all?

or just not compare it to anything else?

I think I get it now:
nobody wants to see how a 3.6ghz p4 performs, but are more interested in which cpu manufacture that has the strongest cpu, that you can buy in a store now.

personally, im more interested in what the future brings than whos bringing it.

sometimes i think people cares more about who is leading the race, than what the result will be: faster and better hardware.

it is not about the company, it is about the technology.
This sig is a shameless atempt to make my post look bigger.
