It's going to become increasingly more difficult to find boards without onboard whatever. It's just getting too cheap. When you can add sound to a MB for $2, it's cheaper to manufacture one model, than set up manufacturing and distribution for two models.

That said, the onboard stuff on my board was no hassle. I turned it all off in the BIOS, and Windows never even saw it.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

cking: I know what you mean, I've just bought a XP2000+/MSI745/512MB upgrade as seen from another recent SiS lovin' thread. It cost me £300. I wonder if I should count up the P4/Asus P4T/PC1066 RAMBUS system I was considering...

it still doesn't say what southbridge they're using.

Huh? The first link on this thread shows that the ECS L7S7A uses the SiS 963 southbridge.

I was refering to the post right above mine... there is no difference in my book between a product that's not officially announced with X features and one that's not mentioned at all... who knows they both may have them both out at the same time...
