A Possible Asus A7S333 BIOS Bug?????

Brand spankin' new system with A7S333 MB:

If 'PnP OS' is enabled, in BIOS, system will not complete POST.
It hangs after detecting 'secondary slave'.

I spent many hours, one setting at a time, trying to nail down the exact one that was causing the problem.

I emailed Asus yesterday. Still haven't heard from them.

I sure hope this isn't a fuxored MB.

It's has 1003 BIOS, Athlon XP 1800+ and approved RAM.


Has anybody heard of/expierenced this problem?

Yeah you have to disable Plug and Play or upgrade to BIOS version 1.4 Beta. Theres a 1.5 beta also, but I mucked up my BIOS flashing it to that so I can't tell you if that fixes it or not..

Had same problem with bios 1003 on a system I built for a friend.

I should be able to update her to 1004 later this week. I'll let you know how that goes....
