At the moment I've got One Maxtor and 2 80gig WD 8 megs and so far they're working like a charm.
If you want crap hard drives try fujitsu who are busy recalling there crappy hard drives. They fail faster than IBM's. Good job they quit making them or they'd be offering a two month warrenty.

That's the way hard drives work Budd. Just like processors, there's exponential premiums on the highest tech.
The people that are looking at these 200GB drives need data density, so a 2x120 RAID isn't comparable.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.
Well, I understand that Wombat, but 500 dollars? But thanks Zokes for clearing that up. I think $300 is on par. This is good though because it will lower the price on the other models.

acctualy i've had my share of simmilar problems with Seagate and maxtor.... WD have been the most stable drives i have ever owned
