Should be an easy fix, but such things are difficult for ATI....

Since it happens on two different pc's it rules out the graphics cards. Different motherboards so that rules that out. Power supplies are the same so that could be it or it could be noisy mains supply.

Just checked it's a powered by ATI card.

Well 2d on this babe is worse than my 8500. Just bunged it up 2048 * 15xx and on the 8500 the text was readable which it isn't under the 9700 maya. So my comment if you want good 2d keep away from the Maya.
3D gaming looks better under Maya so with a different Brand it may look better still.
Of course 2D under DVI looks brillant anyway.

I got my R9700 so early because it seemed to me the easiest way to get a BBA (the same "trick" worked for me with the 8500). You have to pay a bit more, but I guess hassle-free operation is worth every cent.

Perhaps I should have kept the Sapphire card then. Theres also the poss that the 22 inch CRT going up the tube but more likely a case of poor filters.

Well I based my decision on the following.
1) It wasn't the card I ordered.
2) A lot of bad comments on rage3d about Sapphire 8500 and poor tech support and various clock rates.
