  • VIA chipset and drivers

I'm going to set up a system based on an old Soltek SL-75KAV board I have (VIA KT133A chipset).
I seem to remember something about those blasted 4in1s, but I'd like to have some advice on how best to set it up, what to install and not to install.

I'm going to run win2K btw.

    Install SP2.

Install 4-in-1's 4.43 without the IDE drivers....

Call a priest and have the machine blessed first. Then image the HDD

SP3 is still uncharted territory. SP2 is stable as hell and very few people have problems.

I haven't had any problems with SP3, but then I didn't with SP2 either. Stick with SP2 to be on the safe side, then in a few months go for SP3.

Erm, been using both SP2 and SP3 on different machines and both work like charm, no problems whatsoever. SP3 is a final release afterall, not some beta...

So unless you were one of those people who rather used SP1 when SP2 was out, then go for it :P

There is also a slight chance that many users reported big problems with SP3 and there was a large scandal around it

Lets not forget that new EULA with SP3.
