    I was asking about a hardware lockdown so that the case doesn't grow legs "and walk away" one day. However, if someone wants to point me to a good link for locking down Redhat 8 properly...

    I think I'll do a combination of those screwhole locks together with a bike chain. (Case only cost me $22, so no biggie with the holes)

      software lockdown doesnt work properly without hardware lockdown of course. if you got physical access to the server you can plugin a floppy, boot disk, voila there you go.
      you can only lockdown the data that doesnt belong to linux itself, so that even hardware access wont help.
      no matrox, no matroxusers.

        Before I setup the server I am going to remove almost everything from it, and run with a bare minimum of components. When I get it up and running, I just want to make sure that I am not causing unnecessary risk to the campus's network.
