Maybe I should give the more direct link.

How can you possibly take anything seriously?

hehe...afraid of what?, NV's pumping out a lot of vapour because they fuxored there die shrink.
It will take until next year to get it right.

By then I think ATI will be set to shrink there 9700, and maybe release a new part , because the smaller process will be more mature.

With a bit of luck we may even be hearing about son of parhelia(or is that sun).

and between now and then I expect at least another half dozen vapour launches (includeing gf4 AGP 8x), NV30 will be good when it comes out but I think it will the fastest for a VERY short time.(perhaps aquireing voodoo gave NV indegestion)

And I find it a bit supiciuos that there were no real new drivers for the 9700 from ATI since a while.

I could imagine that they have a special driver set prepared for the NV30 launch...
But we named the *dog* Indiana...

Number of transistors doesn't mean dilly-squat about realized performance.

Just look at how many transistors the Parhellia has.

                Besides,
the only thing nvidia think of is FPS
If there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.

I wonder what ATI will have out by the time NV30 actually ships.

                        Radeon 9700Pro with DDR-II memory ?

I'm not so sure DDR II memory is that great of a thing. I mean they are basically increasing latency to increase the maximum bandwidth if I understand it correctly. I guess the trade off is worth it though?

The design changes should allow for for higher clocks. If your latency goes up 20% (measured in number of clock cycles), but you can increase your clock speed by 40%, you're coming out ahead. DDR is having trouble pushing the clocks higher, so we'll see if this helps or not.

Add to that fact that latency is less important in vidcards....
