Just send the MB back and get a new one. If you don't have a full range of HW to test everything out then it is not worth it.

I wasted a lot of money for my damned BP6 motherboard. Changed PSU, battery, graphics card, HD. Flashed the bios with every version available.

It'll be in the post on Monday. Tried to get them to do cross-shipment, but they ain't buying that one ("Against company policy" - fair enough really!)

Funny thing is, I am using it now! Tonight's problem? It liked everything until I got to the Audigy (first time I've tried it in there)... Still, it's further than before, but no doubt tomorrow it will do something different again.

IBM send me my replacement HD and gave me some time to transfer my data over. It was against company policy, but I did not stop the calls and emails until they shipped the drive.

Yeah - but you can kind of justify a HDD

Don't mind too much during the week anyway when I am at work.

Surprised you got anything at all out of scan. There not a very good comapny to deal with it when things go wrong so you're doing well there.

Wasn't any problem at all to get the RMA number - just called 'em up. I will try and report back here on their response though - as to find a decent, cheap online supplier is v. useful for us all!

They even managed to make pcplus mag for bad service and tech support. I got a rma of them in the past but they wouldn't refund the money so it was only when I posted the small cliams papers that they coughed up. Luckily I made a mistake for them on the forms and it got sent back. Strangly as soon as I faxed them telling them I had started court proceedings they suddenly wanted to talk to me thats after months of complete silence.

Just an update: Scan seem to have found fault with the mobo as well, and a replacement should be in the post to me tomorrow...

Sounds to me like they should change their name to some a bit more apt... like Scam.
