  • GF4 Ti4200 & G200 PCI

Has anyone tried a configuration under XP Pro with a GF4 Ti 4200 AGP (Dual Display) and a G200 PCI card to drive a 3rd monitor? When I insert the Matrox card & try to boot I just get a blank screen on all 3 monitors. If I have either the Matrox card or the Nvidia card installed alone, computer boots up fine. If this config isn't possible, I'll just sell the GF4 & get a G400 AGP card, but I'd like to have my current configuration work.

    Thanks in advance!

Hmmm... I don't see why it is not working. Have u tried a different pci slot? What other cards do you have?

I did try the G200 in two different pci slots, but had the same problem in both cases. The only other cards I have in the system are an AverTV TV Tuner and a Hercules Fortissmo II (?) Sound Card. Motherboard is an ABIT IT7 MAX (Intel 845E).

maybe the tv-card interfering? try booting with just the g200 + gf4, to see what might be the prob.

Thanks, I'll try that when I get home this evening... One other thing I should mention, I do have a G400 AGP Single head & it does work in conjunction with the G200 PCI card. In this configuration, the screens are blank through the entire boot process (a definite problem if I ever need to change the BIOS settings!), but once Windows has fully booted both monitors will display. Do you think this may indicate a bad configuration in the BIOS?

          Thanks!

Problem solved. I just needed to update the BIOS on the G200 card. Thanks for trying to help though!
