  • What is "Proxy Desktop" ?

I get a "can't terminate program" when I shut down after I VPN into my office from the admin account on my PC at home.
It does not happen when I VPN from the normal "Power User" account that I usualy use.

The program is called "Proxy Desktop"
I can't see it in Task Manager and no processes seem to have names that sound like they are it.

I googled "Proxy Desktop" and came up with a lot of German hack sites.
Plus one reference to a discussion of a possible IIS virus.

Could our IIS server at work have a virus that is trying to find another IIS server on my computer?

    thanks,
    chuck

      2K or XP?

      How are you connecting (software/medium)?

        Thanks for the response.

Forgot to give much info didn't I?

My home machine W2k. Using Remote Desktop client from an XP disk.

Work machine XP with remote turned on.

Connecting through my straight (no pppoe) tcp/ip 1024/128 dsl connection.

I suppose it could be that that the Remote Desktop has some component called Proxy Desktop that is crashing when I log off.
But it's not documented that way.

        thanks,
