BTW you can get a lot of cool wallpapers on wincustomize... Its a dedicated site for skinning/WindowBlinds etc, but there`s usually a link for the wallpaper of a WB skin... so i get the wallpapers only

Personally, I go for the clean no-icon desktop myself. I bring everything up from my auto-hidden task bar. I normally have at least a dozen windows up between my two monitors so there's not much desktop to be seen anyway. I'll sometimes minimize all the windows if I'm just running apps w/o any interaction and then I can enjoy my Parhelia reef demo scenes on the desktop.

I tried modding my desktop when XP first came out, but I found Windows Blinds horribly inefficient. Lecter introduced me to StyleXP Which works a treat

By the way, does anyone know of a clock util that can be locked to the desktop in a similar way to Rainlender?

This is a good thread. I was getting tired of my old look anyway.

Here's my new style (inspired by isochar's )

                                Paddy,

is your custom start menu button a theme option or did you have to edit explorer.exe to change the charactors?

Yes I drive a 13yr old Volkswagen; Yes I'm a dirt poor college student; Yes every tank of gas is more $$ than the value of my car, but it is FUN to drive, so I don't care about your ego or how much your car cost, if you insist on going the exact same speed in the passing lane as the car next to you for 10 minutes, stop being a self righteous ass, move the hell over and just let me by!!!
