Got the cable modem for my house today 
It doesn't work
My machine refuses to release its network connections and DHCP itself a nice address
Turns out to be a problem with the version of windows XP I have not having a full set of networking files.

Luckily my server will be moving to the new house tonight and it runs a fully paid for copy of smoothwall. Best £0 I ever spent.
Remmeber kids - crime doesn't pay. Hope the new version of XP I have doesn't have this problem.
