me _restore folder

I set up a pc some time ago for a friend using win me, the _restore folder is now showing 2.3gb as its size.
Will it be ok to delete this folder as it is taking 50% of the disk.
Also what does this do, i'm not a me person.

yes it will be ok. there should be ability to disable it in system somewhere.

Right Click My Computer, Properties, File System (or something), then Advanced, and there should be a checkbox for disabling System Restore... Sorry havent used Me in a looooooooong time, so i maybe be off by a bit...
