Seriously; this is one reason I avoid Creative's recent cards. Their drivers are a royal PITA to totally get rid of.

The other reason is that they're bus & resource hogs of the first order. Doing only a very basic driver install helps....some.

I think i have managed to get rid of it. I only ever install the driver and the surround mixer anyway.

My C-Media chipset is working a treat. Who needs EAX anyway!

The Compaq driver is simply an older version of the UDA driver. Decent enough, and might fix your problem. Also it has working apps for the Live, so that's a plus.

I'm using the Audigy 2 drivers myself.

Although they DO work on the live, the apps don't work 100%.

I have downloaded all the Audigy 2 crap (nearly 200MB!) mixed and matched the files, and then created a 15MB (compressed) driver set with the surround mixer. It works a treat now.

No stuttering at all. If anyone wants it i can upload it to http.
