Thats werid I just slapped together a Duron 1.1ghz with an ECS K7S5A Motherboard and popped in a PCI Modem in the last PCI slot and have no problems in WinXP...though I haven't tried the modem yet

He's got a SIS900 LAN chip on that mobo.
GT, I'm curious, do the PCI modem and onboard NIC share IRQ ?
Maybe it's not the 5th PCI that shares with the LAN.
Then again, the ECS K7S5A might have full functionality of all 5 PCI slots even when the onboard LAN is enabled.
Guess that's the price I have to pay for having a 6th slot.Comment
