  • Re-installing IE6

    Hi...

Is there any way to just reinstall IE?
My IE kinda screwed up... it freezes every 10 mins or so.
Did a WinXP repair install and still the same

    Thanks.

Try updating to 6.0 SP1 if you haven't already.

If you updated you can repair it from the add/remove programs!

Othervise d/load it again from http://microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.asp
According to the latest official figures, 43% of all statistics are totally worthless...

To repair or reinstall Internet Explorer and Outlook Express in Windows XP, complete the following procedure while you are logged on as an administrator:
Use the System File Checker tool to scan all of the protected files on your computer:
Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type sfc /scannow, and then click OK. Note that you may be prompted to insert the Windows XP installation CD-ROM.

Anyway to make it specific to IE6 files instead of all system files?

If you've done an upgrade there should be a folder holding the latest update and you should be able to run the setup from there again.

Yes I ran setup again and reinstalled already.
But it doesn't fix the original issue...

Time for Windows reinstall? (need to get rip of messy Creative things anyway)
