I WANT TIPS!!!
Seriously, what can you tell me? I want to paint this DVD drive, and my CD-ROM paint (not done by me) is starting to come off around the eject button. I'm a complete noob when it comes to painting (not just drives - I was never into models or anything like that either).Blah blah blah nick blah blah confusion, blah blah blah blah frog.

Very easy.
Go to Halford and buy some paint and you are sorted...P4 Northwood 1.8GHz@2.7GHz 1.65V Albatron PX845PEV Pro

Aren't there certain types of paint which are good/bad on drive fronts? And what's the best way to do fiddly parts like volume controls, or make sure you don't get paint on LEDs/in headphone sockets/in the actual drive while still having it look nice?Blah blah blah nick blah blah confusion, blah blah blah blah frog.

Oh man >_< you take the fascia off before spraying.
The cheap one at Halford "acrylic" paint is pretty good, I use "satin black" myself. It is not scratched off easily.
If you go "pro" you can buy the Vinyl Dye, again, at Halford. Very hard to scratch off, but the choice of colours is quite limited. You may wish to apply a coat of white/grey primer first too.
Just make sure you don't apply too much paint, and do not touch it before it is set... then it is quite easy.
Also, those plastic modelling paints are quite good too (stick with big names). But are slightly more expensive and the bottle is smaller.

yup, fascia off and then black satin acrylic paint from Halfords. I also used a layer of laquer too. Take it slow and resist the temptation to just empty the can in one go.
Oh, and do it outdoors! I did mine in my room on a sheet of newspaper. I found that the fans in my case had somehow sucked the paint from the air and deposited it on my mobo
My Px1210S looks cool thoughThe Welsh support two teams when it comes to rugby. Wales of course, and anyone else playing England

Yikes. I had to do some touchup to the bannister. I decided on spraypaint for "ease of application". Well, it went on nice. It even stayed on.
It also made the house so smelly, even with windows open, that I had to take Logan away for a few hours due to fear of brain damage.
