      Maxtors had my vote when they still carried 3 yrs warranty. Now WD are pretty fast and still carry 3 yrs. I mgith go back to Maxtor as they upped the warranty to 2 yrs for the OEM drives at some select distributors -still a bit short but better than 1...

      Their latest 8MB editions seem pretty good. WD needs to either lower their prices or upgrade the older models (they still use old tech in smaller drives -only the biggest gets the newest tech).

      IBM _could_ be somewhere if only they'd add the 8MB cache on lower capacity models (even the 120GB 8MB is hard to find).

      Seagate is with samsung and fujitsu...ie nowhere, except in ... satellite receivers
