Can you identify this Quantum HDD?

I could probably find a use for a couple of them... Given that I recently found an old 40Mb IDE drive (from the old 386DX40!!)and was wondering if I could hook it up to my current machine...

Why don't you just scan the HDD and post the picture. We should be able to better help you out. Anyway a JBOD of 5000 HDD could proove really hot and power hungry...more than a Radeon Pro 9700 pro or a GF FX 5800

I didn't want to play down any previously given answer, but I thought my link would be helpfull for all other upcoming request, especially since it covers the whole range of available and discontinued disks and even has all jumper settings listed too.

Also, they have a dbase for controllers as well.

If you want a REAL challenge, what would they have cost (5000 of them) in the UK in 1998, and what would alternatives cost? And, what would the chances of getting 5000 quickly be?
