    I have a <a href="http://viewsonic.com/products/crt_g90f.htm">ViewSonic G90f</a> I am pretty happy with.

So what if the connector on the video card is BNC? The video cable is a long length of wire, and the connector only a small part of that. Meanwhile the wiring in the DB15 cable has all the signals coupling with each other for the entire distance.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

IIRC BNC has different resistance, but don't quote me on that since I'm not into electronics.

Better use is dual input with a swithc on monitor. (one rig connected through BNC and other throuhg DSUB with an OSD switch to change inputs.)

better: a button on the face of the monitor to change the signal source.

OSD is fine, but why make things more complicated?

            Thanks all for your responses.

Thanks - the 915FT Plus specs look good though reports are that QC can vary widely.

If I have to go ap grille, the 900NF is top of my list.

That's the beloved 2450, isn't it? Ap grille edge would probably still go to the 900NF - but $200! Soooooo temptingggggg...

The 930SB's 21" version is top of my 21" list - I want to pair up a 21" ap grille w/shadow mask for a secondary monitor (best of both worlds, I hope). Eizo is out of my price category...

Yeah, I wish I'd moved sooner on a 19" shadow mask - bad market timing on my part.

I'm looking for shadow mask - seems that all currently available Viewsonic 19" CRT's are ap grille...

One thing to consider with Aperture Grille vs. Shadow Mask:

Aperture Grille monitors will let you use ClearType font anti-aliasing with Windows XP, which improves font smoothness VERY much, and makes it look much more like printed fonts. A very good example of this would be doing a letter in Word with Times New Roman 10-12 pt (non italic, non bold), and then printing it. On screen, it looks like crap, even with standard font smoothing enabled. On paper, the edges are smooth and round. ClearType emulates this with the colored subpixels, bt can only do so with LCDs and Aperture Grille monitors. I use WinXP + ClearType, my girlfriend uses Win98, which doesn't support CT - and everytime I boot her OS, I think "ugly"

Hitachi or Eizo is usually good at AG.
