Mcafee virus program

I want to use dos virus scan files on a bootable CD. Now mcafee in there wisdom have hidden the folder the files are in. I cannot unhide the folder these files reside in. You do a search and copy the files one by one that way but it would be easier to do this directly from the folder.

hidden folders on Windows is a joke

Just tell Explorer to display them anyway

It's either not really a hidden folder, or it will just show up if you pick "show hidden files and folders" in Explorer.

My guess is it's some kind of compressed archive-thing... to protect the scanner files from corruption.

But McAfee sucks. In DOS, use F-Prot. In Windows, use AVG.

Well we've got a choice.

Sophos >>> delete those infected work files.

mcafee >>> I'll try and clean them.


When the os won't boot cos it's fubbarred a bootable cd is useful.
When it's a laptop we can't remove the hard drive and stick it in another pc.
