I would like to send it back but I am outside the US and shipping is expensive. Might not be worth it. Any way I have gotten pass the lockups with less aggressive timings within windows. Memtest still freezes. Is that OK?
Not really. You'll still run into problems, I'm afraid.
I wouldn't entirely rule out the board. A lot of boards have trouble with various large-sized chips. I skirted the issue by buying all 256MB sticks, but you may not have enough slots (many boards don't nowadays).
I have spoken.

I'm the least you could do, oh yeah
If only life were as easy as you
I would still get screwed
So Nuno, my ram problems could be because I am using DDR 333?
I don´t think so. DDR333 is backwards compatible, so it should work fine at DDR266 speeds. It´s more likely the size of the module (512Mb) that´s giving you trouble, specially if you´re using an old bios. What bios are you using for your K7S5A?
Anyway, it could be a bad stick. Crucial does certify its PC2700 512Mb modules for K7S5A, so you can always return it.

I use the latest cheepoman bios. It will give you several fsb options and more tweaking options. It also correctly detects SSE on T-bred´s. Try it. May I remind you to NOT flash the bios with the new memory, as it´s giving you errors, and it can corrupt the bios image.
Do not use the pro bios. It has a diferent pci routing and you may not be able to boot any more.
This is the one I use http://www.ocworkbench.com/2002/ecs/...os/Chb1129.zip
Forget the fastwrites, it´s not worth the hassle.
