I love these features!! they're great, and the windows based version is wonderful just as all the previous versions...I've not tried the linux based version yet...still using mozilla for that, but will prolly do that soon.

Okay maybe I'll give it a shot, just went to the site and saw a free download button.
I'll let you know if I'm converted.

Well that certainly doesn't apply to IE

You should just use Opera for 2 or 3 days, and then try IE again. You will wonder how you ever managed to like the program

I'll put a slight damper on things. The last time I started using Opera it started acting up and running very slow. This was after a month or so. Dunno why. Uninstalled it and went back to IE. I've got 7.1 downloaded at work so I may give it another run.

RhinoZ: One of the beautiful things about Opera is that you can install and uninstall it without affecting the rest of your system. You can even have as many versions of it installed and running at the same time as you want.

PIT: Try increasing your HD cache to something like 50 or 100 MB, this fixed performance probs for some people

Well so far no real problems with Opera.

Thought I lost the ability to view animated gifs when I was in the murc and I was scolling down The Lounge and didn't see Zokes av bounce Almost deleted opera right there But after a couple of secs it bounced and bounced and bounced

Some sites I visit and my wife visit don't show up on the screen as nicely formated as IE.. no big deal here. But two sites I had trouble accessing with opera was okay with IE.

Don't really notice the speed, but I really love the ad blocking, even my wife noticed that.

Haven't played around with tabbed browsing yet. Just visited as many sites as I can to see what happens in Opera.
Love the status bar at the bottom of the window that shows speed of page download and some page info when downloading.

So all in all so far so good, nothing spectacular but at least it's not M$. I'll give it a couple of more days.
                    Thanks for the push.
Any limitations with the free download version?

Yeah opera had a tendency not to format some thing as nicely as IE, but it's got so many nice features that I think it's worth it personaly...and besides you'll find this same (small) problem in most other browsers like Phoenix, mozilla etc...a small price in my opinion...

Another problem with Opera at times that fails to display websites properly. I've come across several today. Whether this is fixed in version 7.11 I don't know.

Animated GIFs are a known problem, and should be fixed with 7.2 (no ETA on that though).

The free version has no limitations other than the banner, and no tech support account (techsupp is good! but there are also the forums at http://my.opera.com/forums, where you can get free supprt, info, and post wishes!).

If you have problems with a site, try hitting F12 and selecting "Identify as MSIE". This helps for some poorly coded sites.

BTW, mouse gestures ROCK, as does the Wand (password manager).

Padme: Opera has a built-in e-mail client, called M2, which I'm using at the moment. Takes a little getting used to, but is quite nice already (and this is the first version of it!) - for more info, check the help (F1)

Well tried the latest 7.11 at home. Still suffers from random freezing so I uninstalled it.
