LOL. I think it goes like this...

          RAMBUS PC800...

820 was rdram, I am not sure it was dual channel tho...I thought the first dual channel was for the P4.

And their was a sdram version...kind of
remember the MTH?, they used the MTh chip to interface to the memory controler using SDRAM....but as you know they were recalled not stable with sdram but okay with rdram.
(sweet..if you had 820 with sdram intel would replace the 820 and give you rdram free as well)

820 = Single channel RDRAM PIII
840 = Dual channel RDRAM PIII with prefetch in chipset

                Oh yeah, good point guys

So, i840 was technically the first dual-channel DDR tech for Intel

Still, I was just being picky as I knew the pointless trivia regarding RDRAM being DDR already

More trivia: What is the fastest spinning speed (i.e. rpm) available for IDE drives?

Ok, just been Google-ing, and found that Springdale is i865

Also, thanks to dZeus for finding a source for this silly trivia:

PS: The IDE question is on hold while we check something, feel free to submit guesses though...

Oh I'm loving that 800 MHz FSB!!! WOOT!

I've heard that Intel is also working on a new proc that will have a huge 1 MB of L2 cache running of the 800 MHz FSB that should be comming out after the prescot supposidly, I can't wait for that little beauty...(although prolly expensive as all heck...)

Nope, sorry. (btw, it's not SATA).

btw, I think I know why Intel jumped from 133,333... Mhz (533 marketing MHz) to 200 (800 marketing).
The only logical step between would be 166,666... (count yourself )
Now that would cause a big headache to intel marketing stuff

                          That is Prescott!
It is 1mb 2nd cache, 800MHz and new socket design.
The socket design is really interesting as there are no pins!
Initial launch = 3.4GHz, can scale well up to 5GHz.
                          Hmm... Q4 2003 iirc...

                              15000 rpm

Despite everyone thinking ATA and IDE are interchangeable terms....ATA is the actual interface. IDE refers to the logic controller being on the drive (integrated drive electronics), but the drive could connect to an ATA controller, SCSI controller or anything else really

So, a 15K SCSI drive is what I was looking for, although I suppose some CD drives might hit that...anyone know what speed a 1x/52x drive does?
