Nope, I don't like it much for some reason. I liked the 1711M alright but I'm generally nonplussed by their screens ATM. Add to that that it costs 10-15% more than the Acer AL732.

I'm not saying it's not a good screen, only that in the last ten or so LCD screens I've seen I liked the Acer better.

Quality-wise the Philips 107S2B was pretty decent, only it looked as good as your usual cheap screen (it has a bezel that's about 3-4cm).

The 1760NX has a thin bezel alright, but I don't like it, plain and simple (I think I really hate the base actually). I liked my Iiyama AS4315-UT better

I really like the design of NEC's screens at the moment. And LG's.

      Who needs built-in speakers?

I like having nothing on my desk except the TFT and cordless keyboard/mouse

and how about a VESA wall mount so you don't even have the LCD's foot on your desk?

The stand is pretty spiffy, made from solid aluminium, and my cat likes sleeping behind the monitor, so it stays on the desk

Just to add that after a few days I still am fully satisfied with this Sony. I can have the best of both worlds and I´m doing dualhead (ooops, hydravision ) with a CRT and a LCD. Even for playing I prefer the LCD, I kept comparing and comparing, and you need to be really picky and not concentrated on gameplay at all to notice a response time difference between them. The brightness and vivid colors of the LCD do make all the difference in games.
There are only one situation where I clearly prefer the CRT: non-native LCD resolutions. Despite the LCD doing a good job at scaling, 1024x768 does look better on the CRT, for instance. Luckly my R9700 allows me to play most games at 1280x1024 2xAA 8xAniso, even UT2003 at a steady 40-60 fps.
I also found an excelent multimonitor utility that really completes ATi hydravision: http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/ It´s worth trying.

The big difference for me was that I don't feel like I've been on the phone the whole day. Even the TCO99 CRTs would give me that feeling. It automagically disappeared when I got my first LCD...

As a sidenote, I'm now even more sensitive to the refresh rate on CRTs. Anything below 85Hz won't do it anymore...
