Once you use them effectively, to lose them is like losing your wallet with all your creditcards/cash/family heirlooms in it.

Oh yeah, I also keep a record of all my logins, bank account #'s but that's protected by a password prog in the Clie.

Just one thing, what type of storage do you use?
and how would you fit the LOTR on the pda? multiple sticks?
i use a Sony PEGT 625C, colour, and , slowish really, but fine for my needs. 33MHz cpu....


I'm waiting for the 3D PDA's, ATi and Nvidia and others are all working on mobile 3D... Doom ]I[ on PDA....hmmmmm..donuts.

Actually LOTR w/both books only takes up about 4 megs out of my 16.

Everything fits on the internal memory except my mp3's which are stored on a 128MB stick

Yeah, I checked it out before. But unfortunately you need an EARPEICE to use it as a phone. That's just a hassle.

If I were to invest in a PDA with a HD, that would then be called a tablet PC.

Which I'd go with instead.

We'll get there in a few years tho....
Apple doesn't have the balls to do a handheld PDA yet tho. Their iPod is just a music player atm.

Although, if Apple would put out a PalmOS5/6 based iPod with a decent CPU, I'd switch right away.

I've got no cell phone, I've got no PDA, I've got an mp3 player I don't use... I would get a device that is a PDA/Cellphone/mp3 player (video isn't necessary)/mobile harddisk and with which I can surf the net and send and receive mails with a flat rate. Until then, it's too beta for me

SD memory is too fragile for me. Also, CF has no DRM encumberments.

I love the Sony Mem sticks, good transfer rate and they are really quite sturdy.

The only problem is the proprietary nature of them. imho they are the best tho.

What I am still waiting for are solid state HD's to become faster than current platter based ones. They'll come though.

The ones out there are just so nice because of the heat and noise issue...and price.

Not likely. Solid state is expensive monetarily, and in terms of power consumption. The information density (and lack of power usage) will keep mechanical HDs ahead for quite a long time.
