      I think that uses standard port 80.
      Well at least thats what I used at work last year.
      But of course... you need Java

        Java's fine. Actually I found it and the applet loaded but I haven't used ICQ before so don't have an ICQ number...

          Sorry I should have been clearer...I didn't mean "pop ups" persey, but I get IM's from random MSN people who are sending links to porn sites and stuff.

            why do you have msn set up to recieve messages from people not on your contact list?

              GNEP, I think there are web interfaces for some other IM services as well...

              Or you could just use the forum's PM feature, it pops up a message every time you receive a PM

                      Yeah, you get a message saying "*name* would like to add you to his/her contact list", with an accept/deny prompt. Works quite well.
