This one is pretty nice too. We've tested some of these out at work, plus its got analog and dvi inputs and fast response time.

I think it's ugly
Its image quality should be good though, seeing that it uses the same panel. Never heard of the firm though, don't they ship to europe?

There are some rather terrible pictures I took of my NEC available here

This might be a Dell special, since Dell is all black. BTW, the foot doesn't look like the standard 1760NX foot to me.

It's obviously uglier than the european version - we've done away with these feet with last year's models

The european version does that too(or are they run inside? I don't know since I don't have one - yet - but I know it has "cable management")
I preferred black two or three years ago, but now I just find it too dark

Hmm, from his pictures it looks as if there's no cable management. But I'm sure I read about it somewhere... well, he'll tell us tomorrow, I guess

I'd forgotten just how long ago I took those pictures.
About two days after I got it on the desk somebody asked for some, I complied - problem is that I hadn't used the cable management.
In fact it wasn't until two days after I'd started using it that I actually bothered to read the manual that detailed what this "spare" piece of plastic was for
The US version indeed doesn't come on the height adjustable stand, quite why they decided to do that I'll never know as it is quite handy.
After I recieved mine I fired off an e-mail to NEC with reference to the panel as I too was under the impression it was all balck and I was worried I'd been sent the wrong display.
Their reply was "The 1760NX has a silver bezel, the older model 1700/NX is completely black, we know the picture on our website is misleading".
After speaking to a fair few UK owners of the 1760NX (both in black & beige) all of them have come with the silver bezel - over at futuremark.com I've spoken to US owners who also tell me they have a silver bezel too (but no height adjustable stand).
However as your completely black panel seems to have 1760NX markings (I'm assuming, this is the DVI version you have?) it must be the real deal.
I shall take some more pictures a little later today and get them uploaded ASAP, now that I've got the cables tidied and also worked out how to turn off the flash so the pictures should look betterIt cost one penny to cross, or one hundred gold pieces if you had a billygoat.
Trolls might not be quick thinkers but they don't forget in a hurry, either

Right, I have changed the pictures that I've hosted.
Link is the same as before:
I have an old Fuji DX-10 digital camera and I'm afraid it is a few years old now, hence the less than "perfect" images.
However it should give you a rogh idea of what this panel looks like (well the European version anyway).
It really is worth seeing in the flesh if at all possible. It cost one penny to cross, or one hundred gold pieces if you had a billygoat.

Thank you for the extensive information and new pictures, PaulR
One question though - can you turn it into portrait mode?
Oh BTW, the german website is very extensive and has pictures (in JPG and hires TIFF), specs, and manuals (german, english, french) available for download.

Well, I took the advice you guys gave GURM and ordered a 1760NX.
There is one odd thing about the 1760NX though (at least I think it's odd):
The 1760NX does not come with a DVI-D cable.
I don't even think it comes with an adapter.
That just seems stupid to me.
Chuck
PS I have a cable so it's no problem for me.Chuck
