Reason behind this are the comparable lousy filtering algorhythms that PS offers.

Further for enhanced print quality, you should use for example Freehand and print from there, ie. setup a document that has your banner size, setup apropriate DPIs and position your photoshop picture. Take both docs (Freehand doc and Photshop picture) to your print studio and see how much better it looks then printing directly from Photoshop.

Thanks for the offer. In which format do I send it to you? I may not have time as I am running out of it. Also, when you send it bakc as the desired size, what the hell do I do with something that big? LOL! I think the print shop likes EPS format? I never even heard of that. They are supposed to call me back today.

Encapsulated Postscript. Photoshop can save in that format.

I just scaled and converted the picture to CMYK and saved as an .EPS file. I'll just email it to you, if you want... after being zipped it's only 141 megs, 660 uncompressed.

Depending on the original format that you used, I'd suggest TIFF with LZW compression in RGB colorspace should be fine for everybody.

EPS is rather a group of formats, containing too many variables for my taste, but one major bonus would be that you have an option to include splines for masking out unwanted backgrounds.

I sent it in TIFF format w/ LZW compression(and I assume that PS defaults to RGB otherwise I don't know )

I apologize, I never got an email saying this thread was updated Also, where did you send the email about how to get the picture?

I finally talked to the banner company. they said, for best results I should send them any format that has atleast 150dpi @ 100% image size. What do you guys think? You think the jpg imgae is to small? If so, I am trying to get Maggi's file and I will give that to them. Actually, I am probably wasting my time iwth the jpg and I swhould jsut get the pic from Maggi. OK, hunting for which email Maggi sent the link
