It would be yanked faster than Quick and everyone that posted to it would be banned

I wonder what liabilities there would be involved in a post like that too.

Considering that it devalues futuremark as a company severely for people to be intelligent.

A lot of effort into making an almost completely pointless benchmark tool, a lot of effort into cheating at it, and a lot of effort into debating it after we have done a lot of effort downloading it and running it.

So, why do we not just stop using it? It might mean that driver teams might actually do real optimisation to their drivers...

We have now established that NVIDIA’s Detonator FX drivers contain certain detection mechanisms that cause an artificially high score when using 3DMark 2003. We have just published a patch 330 for 3DMark03 that defeats the detection mechanisms in the drivers & provides correct results.

Download the 3DMark03 Patch 330 here:

I'd highly recommend everyone read Futuremark's report, which details the Driver cheats NVIDIA implemented. I'd be interested to hear what NVIDIA now it's been proven these are far from Driver "bugs". Course, the main problem is there's absolutely no punishment for NVIDIA for misrepresenting their Graphics Cards performance with those Drivers.
According to the latest official figures, 43% of all statistics are totally worthless...

So how do you guys think this will affect matrox?

they seem to be one of the few companies, with a clean record regarding benchmark cheating, as it is now. (the only other "wellbehaved" company I can think of is Powervr).

If matrox came out with a great performer, I think most people would believe the performance numbers to be legit. none of the big companies have that luxury.

could matrox win costumers because of this cheating?

first: I don't really think that matrox will come out with great performer in near future.
second: I think you're overestimating the impact of this all on future image of nvidia...not many care abut this whole thing imho
