Are you saying you have an AUX connection, but find no control option? Sometimes the control option only appears when the connector applicable device is connected, though that might be a bit sophisticated for an auto radio...
Yep: the connection (on connector C3) is there, but I can't seem to get it to switch. Currently, if I press the button (CDC, which would seem to be the key to press), it gives a short beep. But I haven't been able to connect a device, as I don't have the appropriate cable. There are other pins connecting to the CD-changer for controlling it (I think they use some serial protocol over the wire, as the changer can transmit CD-information to the headunit - which then can store titles for different CDs).
My friends are thinking that the switching is not possible when there is nothing connected.

How is that device-presence detection done ? (is it so complicated to put in a car-radio ?)
(in this case, it seems very lazy/lame of Blaupunkt to simply say that there is no AUX in)

...hmmm, is the Last4-Memory of the last 4 destinations for people with Alzheimers, or for drunks?

More if you are too lazy to enter the destination. You do have to take the last-destinations memory into account when entering addresses, as the places they are remembered in depends on this, so it doesn't really remember the last 4 addresses, but one last address for each of the 4 groups (a bit complicated, but it works). Entering is a bit cumbersome at times, but as efficient as they could have done (it only gives the possible characters - according to its database - that can follow on the string that has been entered).

Let's say you have a Blaupunkt compatible CD player plugged in AUX. You push button. CD player chip wakes up, "Oh that's me, an authorized Blaupunkt CD player!" - "No disc".

You plug in an iPod and push button. iPod replies 0001100110001001101010010011ahjf;jkuekmcfart. Radio replies "Beep!" It may be another way for Blaupunkt to exclude third-party devices in order to sell its own. Many companies do that.

My car came with a Blaupunkt and a Harmon Kardon "sound system". The CD changer in the boot looks identical to my former Alpine changer, only in black instead of silver. I thought "Great!", I'll chain my old Alpine CD changer and have two, like I could with the Alpine setup. No chain connector on Blaupunkt changer like on Alpine unit - NO DEAL-

      Rats!
How can you possibly take anything seriously?
      Who cares?

Yes, but I was thinking (hoping) more in terms of these scenarios:
        1. Blaupunkt CD changer
        -you push the button
-player responds, and sends the audio over the analog channels (l/r/ground).

        2. Aux use
        -you push the button
-headunit gets no response, but "sees" a device connected (either due to some connection/resistor in the custom cable (C3 -> aux), or by detecting there are cables connected to the analog audio inputs) and reacts "oh, no blaupunkt device, let's go in AUX-mode", and then simply lets the analog audio channels through (again l/r/ground)...

or is this wishfull thinking ?
