  • cannot burn CDRs using DAO

i'm using nero and the yamaha f1.
but i cannot seem to burn CDs using DAO (at any speed) even though i chose that method under compilation info.

when burning starts, it reverts to TAO. both components are using the latest version / firmware and the media is certified 32x (if thjis info helps). am i missing something?

I've never used DAO in Nero.

For DAO I always use CloneCD.

Odd, I've never had trouble with DAO on Nero. And your drive supposedly supports it.

      What version of Nero?
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

It's a while since I last used Nero, but are you possibly asking it to leave the session/disc open? This would probably cause it to revert to TAO.

ok, i'm really lost on this.
for both "finalize session" or otherwise, i still cannot do a DAO.

just to chk, you mean if i dont finalize session, i cannot use DAO? i swear i used to do it without problems some time ago, in a galaxy far away...

To do DAO, you must by definition close both the session & the disc.

Ayuh. DAO = closed session, closed disc.

But seriously, Nero is SOOO not intended to do DAO. Just get CloneCD or Blindwrite or Fireburner.

agree. cloneCD. The only thing I use Nero for is compliling audio MIX cd's.

Never had a problem with Nero and DAO discs? Maybe you'll need an update of the engine?

Disc At Once. You write the Lead in, TOC, Data, Lead out. In that order.

@ Gurm. I agree; Nero is crap. Having said that, it shouldn't have any problems doing DAO.
