How does one install office 2000 to run on multiple profiles

Put office2k/xp files on a mapped drive and install from there?

Kurt, it shouldn't be asking for the files in the first place. Putting the install files on the hard drive or in a network folder is just workaround not a fix.

Yep. After it's installed you shouldn't have to put the disc back in for normal use... that's retarded.

It's a major pain in the butt alright, but you can't help it. I usually install from a mapped drive or put a copy on the drive. Any time you need to update office you're bound to look for the CDs and it takes forever. When you have the files on the disk, it takes very little time. That's MS for you...

I am using zenworks on the network which will push an msi file to the local disk, then push the correct user policy at login.

The problem was Office not always applying the appropriate registry entries to all profiles including the default. Even though the software was installed, it only runs in one profile. This does not happen though if you open Outlook before applying updates.

Now I just have to fix the messed up profiles.
