As it's getting close to one year since I quit smoking after 13 years I've decided to spoil myself a bit.
My PC recides in my living room, so having a big CRT and a beige tower case is getting a bit annoying, and I really want a quiet system as well.
Case: Coolermaster 620C the alu version (http://www.dansdata.com/atc620.htm)
PSU: SeaSonic SS-300FS 300W
CPU: Intel P4 2.66 (533 MHz FSB version)
MB: Aopen MX46-533V (SIS 651 based with Silenttek)
RAM: 768 MB DDR
Hard drive: 80 GB Seagate Barracuda
Graphics Card: Radeon 9000 (non-pro, passively cooled)
Monitor: Acer Al 732
I've decided against going for a FSB 800 system, as it would require me getting new RAM, I already have the 768 MB DDR, and I really liked the features of the MX46 board, not to mention it's dirt cheap.
I intend to underclock the CPU to 2 GHz (FSB 400) and turn down the voltage as much as possible in order to reduce the heat, and thereby the noise. The Seasonic PSU is very quiet as well as the Barracuda.
I'm hoping that the rest (MB+CPU+HD) arrives in the middle of next week and I'll see if I can post some pics.
