They will do an exchange today for one for the printers listed above.

Perhaps i should start a new thread so spark more interest?

        • PHOTOSMART 7550 @229

        [/list]

I'll update the list as I find out more info etc...

Anyone know any of these models?

1220C can handle 11" x 17".. takes the 42/38ml cartridges. based on the 1200C which came out several years ago.

DJ450 - mobile printer.. should only be concidered if you need the portability. small cartridges ( 19 / 10ml black, 17,8ml colour)

5550 - maye a year old, only takes the small cartridges

7150, 7350,7550 - looks nice, but only takes the small cartridges(19ml black, 17ml colour) - high res printing though

photosmart 230 - tiny printer, can not print full size sheets, only good if you plan to print out photos, and not much else

As for an overall recommendation.. well I still like my 990CXI better than these ones, it cannot print as high a resolution, but it still looks great on photo paper, and the ink is much more reasonably priced, being the bigger cartridges.

usually they just come with smaller capacity "trial" cartriges.. this is the first time I have heard of HP not even shipping with a cartridge for black
maybe if you bitch enough to the store, you can get one for free ..

It came with a photo cart (number 58), and a colour cart (57). The colour cart contains black, but it obviously wastes the other colours. The black one (56) is only ~£16 so i am not complaining too much.. I just wish the printer could store all three inside and not just the two... Well i guess they have to encourage the top of the range model somehow.....
