Found one at Dabs.com. Not much info on it, but google gives this

Not bad... shame about the price though...
It claims to connect through the remote desktop... i take it that it needs to be enabled then..... It is usually one of the first things i disable on a fresh install...

It's a really nice idea, but much too expensive. It certainly won't take off at this price.

Yeah, we've got a few samples at work. To be honest I'd rather use a laptop and just replicate the files that I was working on back to my main pc, or use a shared directory.

Yup - isn't this just like using Citrix to a "dumb" terminal - ie the bandwidth to the screen is way too low to do anything useful like, er, games

Exactly! You're chugging along at wireless speeds, so you can do stuff like edit documents or bring up files, but even then its slower than a real computer, cuz you've also got the internal slow processor of the smart panel as another bottleneck.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw this, GNEP, this isn't a 'new' technology in the least. It's just what used to be called a dumb terminal. I've known people to have them set up on linux/unix boxes for YEARS. That's what the X Windowing System can do through it's built in server/client system.

Good Ol' Microsoft trying to 'innovate' again....

£1000 would get you a decent laptop too....

Smart Displays have become a gargantuan flop. It's M$'s worst disaster since BOB (yes, there was an app called BOB).

But even Bob recovered. You may recognize him as "Clippy."

                        What was BOB?

Smart displays don't look bad, but just not very practical/worth the $.

bob is still there..they brought him back in windows XP when you search for files.. well the dog anyways
Bob was microsofts super lame attempt at making windows easier to use. It was a new user interface, which was a picture of a living room, where you could click on the desk for work apps, and there was a play area and such too.. I forget the details of what it exactly looked like, I saw it many many years ago..
As for smart displays, then if they cost the same as a regular monitor, or maybe just a bit more, then I would concider getting one, at current prices, not a chance...
say can they hook up like a regular monitor also?
