Burn and convert MP3s in standard CDA file format? I've been using Ez-CD/DVD 6.0 and its lacking in that dept. Seems like they took a step back from Ez-CD 5.0.

It's really easy with Nero, but I have nothing else to compare it to.

When doing any serious burning I always convert the mp3s to wav with soundforge and remove the annoying spaces at the beginning and end of the tracks. I might even go as far as to mix them in soundforge before splitting them for burning them in EzCD 6

These days, I use Nero (5.5.10.42 that came out June30)
for all my burning needs....
It came with my Plextor and it can do everything I need..
including WMA /MPEG2/SVCD support.
I also use Nero's Cover Designer for making CD covers.

Nero. Works very well, and have had no problems with the audio CD's.

I would have to try the demo first to see if it's worth it...

It's not worth it. I already paid for Nero5, $50 is nuts for the cost of an "upgrade." $70 to download it, and $100 if you want the box! There's $30 worth of box!?!

And all the new features are covered by existing software, often free stuff. Plus, I don't trust Ahead to outperform existing products in the new markets.

Huh?

You burn an audio cd from mp3s the exact same way that you do in version 5:

Open Creator Classic and select 'File', 'New Project', 'Music CD'.
Then drag and drop the files you want to convert as cda and click burn.

That's the exact same way that Easy CD 5 worked.

You should try out burnatonce then ... it can remove silence, postgap, pregap ... and is free decodes plenty of formats (mp3,ogg,mpc,ape,flac,...).

I already have EzCD 6. Plus I like soundforge. I suppose if you're on a tight budget then burnatonce will suffice. I will say that I find Nero not easy to use for making Audio CDs. The only reason I have Nero is so I can overburn. If EzCD overburned I would not even look at nero.

EzCD 6 is US$80, and includes SVCD/DVD authoring (basic of course), and hasn't fuXx0r3d my CD devices like some older versions have done
